Teeth whitening has become a very popular treatment over recent years, especially in Milton Keynes. Over the counter tooth whitening products may offer some level of whitening or brightening, the results obtained from a professional whitening kit supplied and supervised by a dentist are far superior. Tooth whitening carried out by a dentist will give long lasting results, with the ability to do regular top ups at home when needed to maintain nearly white teeth as well as the safety and security of regulated practice.
Teeth whitening should always be done under the supervision of a dentist to ensure that the procedure is safe and does not cause any irreversible damage to your teeth. A dentist will also be able to check the health of your gums and take into consideration any other dental and medical history you may have, such as crowns or sensitive teeth. It is illegal for non dentists to carry out any form of tooth whitening treatments.
Our kits are simple to use, consisting of custom-made trays and supply of whitening gel best suited to your needs. Our dentists will check that the trays fit comfortably, helping to ensure that the peroxide gel remains only in contact with your teeth and does not affect your delicate gums.
After two weeks you will be well on the way to having a whiter, brighter smile.
Stage 1: Initial consultation
A quick check with any one of our dentists will be enough to determine whether your oral health is at a suitable level to proceed with the whitening treatment.
Stage 2: Impressions
Your dentist then takes impressions of both your upper and lower teeth, which are then sent to a licensed dental lab. It is here where your bespoke whitening trays are expertly created.
Stage 3: The fit
10 working days later and we will have your trays back from the lab. A scheduled appointment will allow us to teach you how to apply the whitening product and wear the trays comfortably.
Stage 4: The results
After 2 weeks we will see you once again to review your whitening progress. Any left over whitening product can be kept in the fridge at home for monthly top-ups.
